On August 15, 2025, a comprehensive Waste Management Training program focused on vermi-composting and organic fertilizer production was successfully held. The training was a collaborative effort between Inclusive Futures Foundation and Jera Social Venture, Nepal. The primary goal was to educate and empower local individuals on effective methods of converting organic waste into valuable resources, promoting sustainable practices within the community. The training was led by speaker Hema Shrestha, an expert in sustainable waste management. The Vermi-composting process was demonstrated. A detailed theoretical and practical session on how to set up and maintain a vermi-composting pit was conducted.
A hands-on demonstration was held where participants got to actively participate in building a small-scale vermi-composting unit. The training was a significant success. Participants left with a clear understanding of the principles of vermi-composting and a practical skill set to implement these techniques at home or within their communities. The event fostered a sense of responsibility towards waste management and highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of creating organic fertilizer. The event successfully met its objective of promoting sustainable waste management practices and building a more environmentally conscious community.
