On 19th June, 2025 INCLUSIVE FUTURES FOUNDATION conducted an orientation programme on stress management for informal sweepers under the network of Samyukta Safai Jagaran Kathmandu, Nepal. The program aimed to raise awareness about the unique stressors faced by this essential segment of the workforce and equip them with practical strategies to manage stress effectively, thereby promoting their overall well-being. Sweepers play a crucial role in maintaining public hygiene and sanitation, yet their work often involves physical demanding tasks, challenging work conditions and social stigmas, which can significantly contribute to stress.

We aimed to target program among those who have never thought these programs could include them. They wake up at 4 in the morning, stroll around the whole city to collect waste which is a nuisance to us and return back late at night without a meaning to their life, frustrated and tired.
We taught them self management and time management, how to deal with stress, a simple yoga to fit their busy schedule, and a big thanks for doing this selfless deed. We also demonstrated stress management techniques such as, Yoga, Deep Breathing Exercises, Hydration and Nutrition, Social Connections etc.

The resource person of the orientation were Ms. Rajani Rajbhandary and Khinu Maya Bista Adhikari. The orintation was attended by approximately 35-40 people. The participants represented a diverse age range and experience level.
