On June 2, 2025 A Legal Awareness Program for Women titled “Nari Ke Kanooni Adhikaar” was successfully organized at Maulana Azad Nagar. The event was hosted by Inclusive Futures Foundation (IFF) to educate women about their legal rights and entitlements. For women, this awareness is particularly vital as it equips them to challenge discrimination, protect themselves from exploitation, and assert their rightful place in society. Despite significant legal reforms aimed at gender equality, a large segment of the female population, especially in developing countries, remains unaware of their legal entitlements.
The program commenced with a warm welcome and introductory note delivered by Dr. Juhi Gupta, President of Inclusive Futures Foundation. She greeted the participants and emphasized the importance of legal literacy among women. Following the welcome address, Dr. Tauseef emphasized on family court and she also explained how women can approach these courts when required. While resource person Dr. Sheraz Ahmad, further elaborated on the legal rights of women for eve teasing and molestation on streets and guided the audience on how to safeguard and exercise these rights in everyday life.The program also featured a medical awareness segment conducted by a medical team from JNMC’s Tuberculosis Unit, AMU. The team included Mr. Azhar Uddin, Senior Supervisor, and Mr. Dharmendra, Health Visitor. They provided valuable information on tuberculosis (TB), its symptoms, prevention, and treatment. Ration kits were also distributed to TB patients during this session.
Towards the conclusion of the event, Dr. Juhi Gupta expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the attendees and contributors. Dr Gupta said that IFF is committed to help women have access to the legal support. IFF distributed pamphlets explaining government schemes for the under privileged people. Special thanks were extended to Dr. Syed Kabir Ahmad, ASHA workers Ishrat Jahan and Munawar Jahan, and the team members including Ms. Ishrat Batool, Ms. Sana, Mr. Ab Qayoom, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad, Ms. Shiza, Ms. Ashfia, and Mr. Waseem, all of whom played a crucial role in the success of the program. They were also felicitated for their active participation and support.
The event concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to empowering women through education and awareness.
