On 13th October 2025, the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies, in collaboration with the Inclusive Futures Foundation (IFF), successfully hosted the second lecture of the Inclusive Futures Dialogues series on the theme: “Unity in Diversity: Building Inclusive Futures for India.” The event underscored the critical importance of national unity and inclusivity for India’s progress. The lecture featured insightful contributions from key speakers, emphasizing the strength derived from India’s multifaceted identity.
Dr. Juhi Gupta, President of the Inclusive Futures Foundation (IFF), delivered a powerful message centered on national identity, particularly referencing National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas). She stated that the day serves as a poignant reminder that “no matter how different we may be, we are first and foremost Indian.” This sentiment highlighted the overarching bond that transcends India’s numerous differences.
Professor Naseem Ahmad Khan provided an academic perspective on the nation’s heterogeneity. He strongly advocated for a positive view of India’s variety, asserting that its diversity “should not be seen as a weakness but a wellspring of resilience and innovation.” His remarks positioned the nation’s cultural, linguistic, and religious differences as crucial assets for creativity and strength rather than sources of division. The lecture saw significant engagement and participation, reflecting the relevance of the topic to the academic community and beneficiaries.
Professor Azra Musavi, Chairperson of the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies, concluded the proceedings by proposing the Vote of Thanks. Her closing remarks acknowledged the speakers, the collaborative effort of the Inclusive Futures Foundation, and the active participation of all attendees. Over 50 beneficiaries attended the event, demonstrating a strong interest in the discourse on unity and inclusive development. The event successfully provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, reinforcing the idea that recognizing and celebrating India’s unity in diversity is fundamental to constructing an equitable and inclusive future for all its citizens.
